What is the ruling on a corpulent man who is unable to move wearing his white jilbab (robe) as ihram garments during Umrah?

Wearing a Qamis (Jalabiyya) is among the prohibitions of Ihram (definition). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about what a Muhrim (one in a state of Ihram) should wear, and he said: "Do not wear Qamis, nor turbans, nor trousers, nor Baranis (hooded cloaks), nor Khuff (leather slippers)." This is not considered an excuse. Your husband is able to wear a wide Izar (lower garment) and Rida' (upper garment). The jurists have stipulated that one who does not find a Rida' is not permitted to wear a Qamis; rather, they should use it as a Rida'. If one intentionally wears a Qamis while in a state of Ihram, they have committed a wrongdoing, and a Fidya (expiatory offering) becomes obligatory upon them.
