The answer

Vomiting is the expulsion of what is in the stomach, and its ruling concerning fasting depends on intent: whoever vomits intentionally has invalidated their fast and must make it up. However, whoever is overcome by vomit has a valid fast and owes nothing. If a sick person needs to vomit as part of their treatment, it is permissible for them to do so, and they must make up the fast after . There is no difference between a small or large amount of vomit in invalidating the fast if it was intentional, unlike saliva and phlegm, which do not come from the stomach and do not break the fast.
