Is a divorce that takes place under duress and fear of violence considered a coerced divorce?

Scholars differ on whether a threat constitutes legitimate duress if it comes from someone capable of carrying it out, and there is no way to escape it. If a person is genuinely coerced into divorce, it does not take effect. If the aforementioned girl is unsatisfactory in her religious commitment and character, it is better to divorce her before consummation. In case of dispute, the Shar'i court should be consulted.
