Is it permissible to read a portion of the Qur’an from a Mus-haf at home and then complete the reading from another Mus-haf at the university?

A Muslim is not required to read from a specific Mushaf. It is permissible to complete recitation from another Mushaf, or to combine reciting from memory and from the Mushaf. All of that is broad and permissible.
