Is it permissible to read from the Mus'haf while simultaneously listening and following along with a recording during prescribed and supererogatory prayers?

For the worshiper, it is permissible to recite from the Mus'haf (Qur'an) in supererogatory or obligatory prayers according to the Shafi'is and the relied-upon view of the Hanbalis, while the Malikis deemed it disliked. The proof for its permissibility is what Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated, that her servant Dhakwan would lead her in prayer from the Mus'haf during Ramadan.

The Hanafis, however, are of the view that reciting from the Mus'haf invalidates the prayer, unless the worshiper is a memorizer and recites from the Mus'haf without holding it.

It is preferable to avoid reciting from the Mus'haf in obligatory prayers to avoid disagreement, to observe the Sunnahs of prayer, and because contemplating the Qur'an becomes difficult when one is preoccupied with reading it and listening to it at the same time. Avoiding this is strongly recommended, and it is even more emphasized in obligatory prayers.
