What is the ruling on saying "ya ghaliyah" (oh dear/precious one) or "ya azizati" (oh my dear) or similar affectionate terms between young men and women in forums? Is it permissible to exchange such tender expressions between genders, and what is the ruling on a girl who accepts such interaction?

Any unnecessary communication between genders, including messaging and forming relationships, is a prelude to what is forbidden, and a step from the steps of Satan, for it incites temptation and corrupts the heart. Allah has forbidden following the steps of Satan. Jurists have explicitly prohibited speaking with young women out of fear of temptation. Therefore, speaking with a young woman who is a stranger is not permissible without need, as it is a cause for temptation. It is obligatory for anyone addressed in this manner to abandon such pages out of fear for their religion, for women are a great temptation. Their saying, "We are like brothers and sisters," is from the adornment and cunning of Satan.
