The question

What is your advice on how to deal with a mosque that follows the Rifa'i Tariqa, where they practice innovations such as sending blessings upon the Prophet and supplicating after the Adhan via loudspeaker, burying their sheikhs in the mosque, chanting and circumambulating graves, and kissing the hands of those affiliated with the Tariqa, knowing that I am still at the beginning of seeking religious knowledge?

The answer

The Ahmadiyya Rifa'iyya is one of the Sufi orders. Sufis are not all alike; some follow the Sunnah, while others are innovators. Early Sufis encouraged adherence to the Qur'an and Sunnah, whereas later ones introduced doctrinal and behavioral deviations. A student of knowledge is advised to strive in learning the Qur'an and Sunnah and teaching them, and to clarify that true happiness lies in adhering to them, and that whoever deviates from them is on the brink of perdition. The sole role model and Imam is the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and nothing should be done except by his command, nor should worship be performed except as he legislated. What Allah and His Messenger have made lawful is lawful, and what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful is unlawful, and the religion is what Allah and His Messenger have legislated. Innovations and newly invented matters must be avoided, for every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Fire.
