Is it permissible for a father to force his unrighteous son to marry against his will?

Legally, a father is permitted to compel his mentally incapacitated son to marry if there is a benefit for him, such as protection from sin (chastity) and providing shelter. This is the view of the Malikis, Shafi’is, and Hanbalis. The Malikis and Hanbalis stipulated that the insanity must be permanent (continuous). If the mentally incapacitated person regains consciousness sometimes, then he cannot be compelled except with his consent.
