What is your interpretation of the actions of my sister's husband and my brother's wife at the resort, and what should I do about my problems with my husband and my brother's wife, and is what I told my friend considered backbiting (gheebah)?
It is necessary to warn against the dangers of intermingling between men and women, due to the divine prohibition of anything that arouses emotions between the sexes outside the bounds of marriage and what one's right hand possesses. Allah Almighty says: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts," and He says: "And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of entering upon women."
Every psychological suffering resulting from disobeying Allah's commands by going to mixed summer resorts requires repentance to Allah. The husband and family must be made aware of the danger of intermingling with non- women, and efforts should be made to relieve oneself.
Regarding the matter of age and beauty, these are not significant unless accompanied by beauty of character.
A wife must develop her relationship with her husband through adornment and improvement, and the husband must remove her feelings of loneliness and psychological torment in response to Allah Almighty's saying: "And live with them in kindness."
As for backbiting the brother's wife, it is considered backbiting if she dislikes what was said about her; otherwise, it is not, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Your mention of your brother something he dislikes."
It is not permissible to wish for death, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade wishing for it. Rather, one should say: "O Allah, keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and cause me to die when death is better for me."
