Who are the Prophet's family upon whom blessings are invoked in the final Tashahhud after invoking blessings upon the Prophet?

1. Submission to Allah and His Messenger is a fundamental principle without which faith is incomplete. Through it, certainty is attained and faith is perfected.

2. People are equal in their fundamental creation, and they are distinguished by piety, not by lineage or color.

3. The salutation (peace) upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, and upon the righteous servants of Allah occurs during the Tashahhud. Then, the prayer upon the Prophet and his family follows. Allah has specifically honored His Prophet and his family with blessings and benedictions, which is a favor from Allah for which His actions are not questioned.

4. The family of the Prophet, peace be upon him, includes his wives, his descendants, Banu Hashim, Banu Abd al-Muttalib, and their freed slaves.
