The difference between impotence ('innah) and castration (khisa’) is that impotence prevents erection of the penis, while castration may or may not prevent it. If it prevents intercourse, then she has the option to annul the marriage; otherwise, she does not. If the removal of one testicle does not prevent the ability to penetrate, there is no need to perform a procedure to confirm procreation, because infertility is not a defect that annuls the marriage. Castration of human beings is forbidden without dispute, unless it is due to an illness.
