What is the ruling on creating a group on social media to read parts of the Quran with a specific intention, and is that considered an innovation (bid'ah)?

Committing to completing the recitation of the Qur’an (khatm al-Qur’an) in the manner mentioned through social media or other platforms is an innovation (muhdath), and there is a concern that it could lead to falling into bid’ah (religious innovation). Furthermore, while there is no harm in reciting the Qur’an and supplicating to Allah Almighty to grant its reward to the deceased, establishing a group for this purpose and making it a regular practice might fall within the scope of bid’ah. As for reading a complete recitation (khatmah) from a group hoping for success (tawfiq), we are not aware of any legal basis for it.
