Is the wife entitled to seek divorce from the court due to her husband not allowing her to leave the house without his permission?

It is obligatory for the wife to obey her husband in what is right and proper. It is his right upon her that she not leave his house except with his permission; otherwise, she would be considered defiant (nashiz). Therefore, she is not entitled to seek a divorce merely because he prevents her from leaving without his permission. A severe warning has been reported for whoever seeks divorce without a valid reason. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any real cause, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her."
