Is it permissible to conduct a feasibility study for an alcoholic beverage company as a compulsory part of an academic study, knowing that failing it leads to not completing the study, and that it is merely a practical exercise and not actual work?

It is not permissible to conduct a feasibility study for a company that sells or produces alcoholic beverages, as this constitutes aiding in the spread of evil. "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed ten people concerning alcohol: its presser, its extractor, its drinker, its carrier, the one to whom it is carried, its server, its seller, the consumer of its price, its buyer, and the one for whom it is bought." Whether the study reaches the company or not, others may benefit from it, and its harm will spread. Allah Almighty says: ﴿And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.﴾ And whoever calls to misguidance will bear a burden of sin equivalent to the sins of those who follow him. Therefore, the study should be conducted for a permissible company, and one should clearly refuse to conduct a feasibility study for a company that sells alcoholic beverages.
