What is the ruling on reciting Surat Al-Fatihah and Ayat Al-Kursi seven times for the purpose of protection?

Reciting the Quran contains abundant good and great benefit. Surat Al-Fatiha is the greatest surah, and Ayat Al-Kursi is the greatest ayah. There is no impediment to reciting the Quran with the intention of seeking protection, such as reciting Al-Fatiha and Ayat Al-Kursi in the manner mentioned in the question, as long as the reciter does not believe that this is an established Sunnah. This is because Islamic law has broadened the matters of ruqyah (incantation) and permitted what does not involve shirk (polytheism), especially if it is from the Book of Allah the Almighty. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted ruqyah as long as it did not contain shirk, and he approved ruqyah with Al-Fatiha.
