It is forbidden to delay a prayer beyond its prescribed time, except for a valid excuse. It must be performed as soon as its time enters, for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a time-restricted ordinance." The time for Maghrib prayer is short, so one must be careful not to delay it or board the bus before praying it. Maghrib prayer must be performed before boarding the bus. Congregational prayer is obligatory for an able-bodied adult male. Among the excuses for not attending congregational prayer is fear for one's property. Therefore, if missing the company bus results in having to pay money to take another bus, then this is an excuse that permits abstaining from congregational prayer. However, prayer should be performed in congregation before boarding the bus if possible.
