Is a person considered to be among those of good character if he treats people with good manners and strives in that, but he does not enjoin good and does not forbid evil, even though he knows of its obligation and that it is part of good character?

Islam has urged good character, for it is one of the greatest virtues. It includes fairness in dealings, gentleness, justice, benevolence, and other attributes of believers mentioned in the Quran. It is not merely a matter of being easygoing or refraining from grave sins; rather, it is about embodying the ethics of believers, enduring harm, doing good, refraining from causing harm, and choosing virtues while abandoning vices.
