Is the suitor sinful if he refuses to allow the maternal uncle of the orphaned wife into his home after marriage?

A girl becomes a wife as soon as the marriage contract is concluded. The husband is then permitted to do with her what a man is permitted to do with his wife. Her guardian has no right to prevent marital intimacy after the dowry has been handed over, unless this was stipulated in the contract for a legitimate reason, such as her young age or the husband's desire to move her from her country. Therefore, it is not permissible to postpone marital intimacy for the sake of completing her studies.

If the inquirer has not yet paid the dowry, then the girl's guardian has the right to prevent him from marital intimacy until he pays the immediate dowry.

It is advisable to seek an amicable solution and to persuade the girl's guardian to reconsider the postponement, which might harm the couple, and to emphasize that hastening the marriage will not affect the girl's studies.

As for preventing her maternal uncle from visiting her, it is not permissible in Islamic law unless his visit causes corruption to her.
