What should a husband do when his wife's father refuses to let her return to the marital home after she has been at her family's house for four days, and what is incumbent upon the wife at that point?

A wife must reside where her husband resides, and she is not permitted to leave his house except with his permission. Otherwise, she is considered disobedient (nashiz), her maintenance (nafaqa) is forfeited, and the husband has the right to discipline her. Obedience to the husband takes precedence over obedience to the father. If the wife does not have a legitimate شرعي excuse, then it is obligatory for her to obey her husband and return to his home.
