Is it permissible, in Sharia, for a Muslim girl to chat in writing with a man who is a stranger to her and provide him with personal information about herself with the intention of marriage?

It is permissible for a Muslim woman to use the internet and social media, as long as it does not lead to a forbidden act according to Sharia, such as private conversations with men. This is because such conversations often lead to leniency and infatuation, which can result in passionate love and devotion. The Sharia has blocked all doors leading to temptation, such as prohibiting softening one's speech, private seclusion (khalwa), and looking [at what is forbidden]. It is obligatory to fear Allah and refrain from conversing with non-mahram men, as this is safer for one's faith and purer for one's heart. Sheikh Ibn Jibreen issued a fatwa stating that it is impermissible for a man to correspond with a non-mahram woman, due to the great temptation and serious danger involved, even if the correspondent believes it is free from passionate love and infatuation. Communication via chat is even more dangerous than correspondence.
