What is the ruling on using the Chinese Birth Chart to determine the gender of a fetus?

The Chinese gender chart is a form of divination and sorcery. They claim it determines the sex of the fetus by knowing the mother's age and the date of conception. This is forbidden because it claims knowledge of the unseen (ghayb), and the falsehood of this chart has been proven in many cases. There is no medical relation between the mother's age, the date of conception, and the determination of the fetus's sex. The Chinese themselves needed this chart to control the sex of their offspring due to birth control policies and their desire for males, which led to the widespread abortion of females. Allah alone grants males and females, and the one who created this chart does not believe in that. Furthermore, the chart does not cover all ages or cases of twins. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has issued a fatwa prohibiting this chart and its circulation because it claims knowledge of the unseen.
