The answer

The matter of progeny is in the hands of Allah: "He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills" (Quran 42:49). Allah may, however, establish means for determining the sex of the fetus. There is no religious prohibition against determining the sex of the fetus if it does not harm the fetus or the mother, or cause an imbalance in the ratio of males to females. Among these means is the separation of sperm before fertilizing the egg. As for the methods mentioned in the article, their scientific and medical feasibility must be verified by specialists before being published as established facts. They can, however, be published with a note indicating that they are still in the theoretical stage.
