Is it permissible to use hand gestures to clarify meaning while teaching Qur’an to children?
There is no harm in pointing with the hand, as there is nothing in Islamic law that prohibits it. Indeed, there are narrations indicating its permissibility. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited the verse: "Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice. Indeed, Allah bestows excellent admonition upon you. Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing" (Quran 4:58), and placed his thumb on his ear and the one next to it on his eye. The reciter (of the Hadith) said: This means that Allah has hearing and sight.
