The paternal uncle does not have the right to compel his niece to marry. If a woman wishes to marry a suitable man and her guardian prevents her, she has the right to refer her case to the judge, so that he may marry her off or order her guardian to do so. If her closest guardian withholds her consent, the guardianship transfers to the next in line.
