What is the ruling on playing football on top of graves?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged visiting graves to remind a servant of their mortality and transition to the afterlife. Islamic law prohibits harming the deceased in their graves by sitting or leaning on them. Playing football in cemeteries contradicts Islamic manners and the wisdom behind visiting graves, and it falls under the prohibition of harming the occupants of the graves. Therefore, whoever engages in such an act must cease and seek forgiveness.
