The answer

Every worry and sorrow that afflicts a believer is a door to reward and patience, for life is not devoid of pain and hardship, as stated in His Almighty's saying: (Indeed, We have created man in hardship). The believer receives what he loves with gratitude, and what he dislikes with beautiful patience. This generates strength, experiences, and reward within him. Among the most important things that help overcome negative dreams and fantasies is moving to action and achievement within the available limits, and abandoning laziness and procrastination. Escaping into daydreams is a kind of anesthesia that corrupts life. The negative thoughts that corrupt life are often distorted patterns of thinking such as: filtering, extremist thinking, overgeneralization, mind-reading, exaggeration, magnification, and personalization. Understanding these patterns and exposing thoughts to them helps in correcting and treating them with patience and regular practice.
