What is the ruling on reciting specific surahs and supplications aloud collectively after Fajr prayer, and repeating certain verses, and is it permissible to pray behind an imam who claims to have heard saints recite a specific supplication from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream?

Gathering to recite the Quran in a single voice is disputed in its permissibility. Specifying a particular time for reciting a specific surah without legal evidence is an innovation (bid'ah). Designating the recitation of certain surahs, such as the Hizb, is an innovation. What is established is the encouragement to recite Surat al-Kahf on Friday, without specifying the morning time. The imam's persistence in these actions indicates his deviation from the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah.

It is preferable to pray behind a Sunni and pious imam if possible. If no one else is available, then one should not abandon Friday prayers and congregational prayers behind an innovator, because Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah consider prayer valid behind every righteous and wicked person. The Companions prayed behind Al-Hajjaj, and Imam Ahmad prayed behind the Jahmiyyah. It is advised to counsel the imam with wisdom and good admonition.
