Is wearing snake skin permissible?

The skins of animals slaughtered according to Islamic law, whose meat is permissible to eat, are pure. As for the skins of animals whose meat is not permissible to eat, there is a difference of opinion. The most evident view is that they are impure, whether tanned or not, especially the skins of pigs and animals whose meat is not permissible to eat, such as foxes, which are predatory animals whose consumption is forbidden. Therefore, it is not permissible to use them for clothing or similar items.
