What is the ruling on one who swore an oath of divorce (saying, "Upon me be divorce, I will not enter this house again") while angry and not intending to divorce his wife?

If a husband pronounces divorce while fully aware of what he is saying, the divorce takes effect according to the majority of scholars. He can reconcile with his wife provided that her waiting period (iddah (definition)) has not ended, and he has not previously divorced her twice. The man must repent to Allah Almighty, seek to please and honor his parents, ask for their forgiveness, and refrain from swearing by divorce.
