What are the pangs of death, and are sins forgiven and evil deeds atoned for by them?

The throes of death are its intensity and anguish that afflict the dying, as Allah Almighty says: "And the throes of death will come with truth; that is what you were trying to avoid." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, suffered from these throes, as narrated in the of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. What befalls a believer from them is considered an elevation of their ranks and an expiation for their sins.
