Dhul-Qarnayn, mentioned in the Qur’an, is not Alexander the Great. Dhul-Qarnayn lived during the time of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), whereas Alexander lived approximately 300 years before Christ. As for the location of the barrier (sadd), it cannot be stated with certainty, but some scholars have said it is between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Al-Tahir ibn Ashour mentioned that it is in the northwestern part of the Gobi Desert, between China and the land of the Mongols, and its traces are still present today.
