What is the cure for the arousal that comes to someone if a girl looks at him and he becomes pleased with himself?

Allah has commanded men and women to lower their gaze. This command is especially emphasized among young people, particularly when there is a fear of temptation. Lowering the gaze is obligatory regarding all forbidden things and anything that may lead to temptation. Be keen to lower your gaze, for it is beneficial in preserving one's chastity and rectifying the heart. The cure for self-admiration is to reflect on one's flaws, to know that blessings from Allah are a test, and that Allah is aware of His servant.
