What do the enemies of Islam aim for by accusing the Mother of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with her?

Slandering the Mother of the Believers, Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, is a sign of hypocrisy and apostasy, because she was the wife and beloved of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. This slander is, in fact, an attack on the person of the Messenger himself, for Allah chose her to be his wife. Ibn Kathir states that Allah would not have made her the wife of the Messenger of Allah unless she was pure. Therefore, whoever slanders her, slanders the Messenger and the religion of Islam.
