Fasting alone does not break the intensity of desire; rather, it is part of the 's guidance to alleviate it, and it is not beneficial if accompanied by what contradicts it. Among the most important means that must be combined with fasting to achieve the purpose are: lowering the gaze, associating with righteous people, avoiding places of temptation, frequently remembering Allah and contemplating His creations, being mindful of the value of time, and being conscious of Allah Almighty in secret and in public.
