What are the supplications and Quranic verses that can be recited for my friend's happiness to return, and does reciting certain verses 100,000 times remove worry and sorrow, and are these supplications authentic?
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say during distress: “There is no god but Allah, the Almighty, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens, the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the Noble Throne.” And if a matter overwhelmed him, he would say: “O Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek aid.” He also taught Asma bint Umays words to say during distress: “Allah, Allah is my Lord; I do not associate anything with Him.” And he said: “No servant is afflicted with anxiety or sorrow and says: ‘O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your judgment upon me is effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name belonging to You by which You have named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept exclusively in Your knowledge of the unseen—that You make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the reliever of my sorrow, and the remover of my anxiety,’ except that Allah will remove his anxiety and sorrow and replace them with ease.”
