How can I return to prayer after I became afraid of the recurrence of incidents that befall me whenever I try to commit to it?

Prayer is a cause for happiness and peace of mind, not a bringer of misery. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would resort to it whenever a matter troubled him, and Allah has commanded seeking help through it. Connecting prayer with the descent of calamity is a satanic connection. Calamities may be due to sins: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is because of what your hands have earned." Abandoning prayer is a greater calamity than any other calamity, and some scholars have even deemed its abandoner an apostate. The Muslim woman must fear Allah and make prayer a fortress for her against Satan.
