How is the eclipse prayer performed?
The solar eclipse prayer is one of the signs of Allah, by which He instills fear in His servants. It is performed when a solar or lunar eclipse occurs, and its description is as follows: The worshipper says the opening takbeer (Takbeerat al-), recites the opening supplication (Du'a al-Istiftah) and Al-Fatihah, followed by a long recitation. Then, he performs a long bowing (ruku'). After rising, he says: "Allah hears those who praise Him; our Lord, and to You be all praise." Then, he recites Al-Fatihah and a long recitation, shorter than the first. Then, he performs a long bowing (ruku'), shorter than the first. After rising, he says: "Allah hears those who praise Him; our Lord, and to You be all praise." Then, he performs two long prostrations () with a long sitting between them. Then, he stands for the second rak'ah and performs actions similar to the first, but shorter in all actions. Then, he recites the and concludes with the salutation (tasleem).
