Is the prayer valid for one who makes mistakes and forgets things, including: reciting some verses of a surah, repeating the same surah in every prayer, raising the hands with the takbir unintentionally, forgetting to place the hands on the chest after rising from bowing, sitting with the feet upright and sitting on them, forgetting some words or phrases in the adhkar, repeating the recitation upon making a mistake, looking elsewhere than the place of prostration, and the neck and chest becoming uncovered during bowing or prostration? And does her fast become invalid if her prayer is incorrect?

First: It is better to complete the surah you have started, but if you move to another surah, your prayer is still valid.

Second: Raising the hands in prayer is a Sunnah, not a mistake, and not raising them does not affect the prayer.

Third: To know the posture for sitting in prayer, you can refer to question number (10854).

Fourth: The Ibrahimiyyah prayer (Salat al-Ibrahimiyyah) is a Sunnah, and dropping one or two letters does not invalidate the prayer.

Fifth: Errors in Al-Fatihah must be corrected because it is a pillar (rukn) of prayer. Errors in other parts do not invalidate the prayer, though they should still be corrected. It is permissible to repeat a single surah after Al-Fatihah.

Sixth: It is Sunnah to look at the place of prostration, and it is disliked to turn the head.

Seventh: The invalidation of prayer does not mean the invalidation of fasting, as there is no connection between them.

Eighth: The ‘awrah (parts of the body that must be covered) must be covered during prayer. The entire woman is ‘awrah except for her face and hands. If any part of the ‘awrah is uncovered due to the garment, the prayer is not valid. However, if the uncovering is sudden and unintentional, one must promptly cover it, and the prayer is not invalidated by that.

Ninth: You are not required to make up previous prayers in which you made errors out of ignorance. You must learn and strive from now on, without succumbing to whisperings (waswas).
