Does a woman's not covering her hair, while tying it back instead of leaving it loose, lessen the sin, and is leaving long hair uncovered a greater sin than leaving short hair uncovered?

A Muslim must respond immediately to the commands of Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him, as this is a requirement of faith. Allah Almighty says: (And it is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error).

Moreover, the Messenger, peace be upon him, clarified that whoever disobeys him has refused to enter Paradise, saying: (All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse. They said: O Messenger of Allah, and who would refuse? He said: Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me has refused).

The Muhajirat (emigrant) women hastened to implement the command of hijab by covering their faces and chests immediately upon the revelation of the verse. This is what a Muslim woman must do today by covering her hair, face, and her entire body from non-mahram men.
