How can the heart be revived after sins such as sodomy, adultery, missing some prayers, and breaking the fast in Ramadan, especially when there is an absence of fear and a sense of guilt, despite current repentance and commitment?

The cure for sins lies in contemplating their gravity and the greatness of the Lord, fearing Him, and continuously reflecting on death and what comes after it. When a servant realizes his standing before his Lord and that he will be held accountable for everything, this instills in him shame and remorse. Then, steadfastness in obedience, increasing good deeds, and asking Allah for tenderness of heart. Crying is not a prerequisite for remorse; rather, it is a fruit and a good sign.
