What is the ruling on discarding ice cream containers imported from "the Islamic Republic of Iran - Islamshahr," and what is the ruling on leaving them scattered, knowing that they are numerous?
It is not permissible to throw papers or containers that contain the word "Islam," or anything related to religion, into the trash or a place of filth, due to the disrespect inherent in doing so. It is obligatory for a Muslim to preserve them and bury them in a respectful place, or to burn them. Every revered name, such as the Quran, the name of Allah, or the prophets, must be respected and honored.
It is not obligatory to seek out what is thrown on the ground, as this involves hardship and difficulty. Rather, it is sufficient to advise against disrespecting them, and to warn against throwing them in inappropriate places, and to pick up what is easily accessible without hardship.
