Are the facilitated fatwas on your website considered following dispensations? And what should I do when I feel ostentatious when reading and memorizing the Qur’an?

Your adoption of a fatwa based on facilitation, issued by qualified scholars, is not considered a pursuit of dispensations. As for abandoning the recitation and memorization of the Quran for fear of showing off (riya'), this is a deception from Satan, and scholars have deemed it a form of riya'. Al-Fudayl ibn Iyad said: "Abandoning an action for the sake of people is showing off (riya'), and acting for the sake of people is polytheism (shirk), and sincerity is for Allah to protect you from both." It has been reported that whoever resolves to perform an act of worship and then abandons it for fear of people noticing him is a show-off, unless he fears that people will harm him by backbiting if he performs the act of obedience in their presence. It is one of Satan's ploys for a person to abandon his regular devotions out of fear of riya'. This is a mistake. Rather, one should continue the action and strive against the self and Satan therein for the sake of Allah Almighty, and if Satan whispers thoughts of riya', one should increase in worship.
