Is it permissible to work as a judge in the Supreme Court in a Western country, knowing that the nature of the work involves judging defendants, and that this assignment is obligatory unless one apologizes for religious reasons?

The rule concerning a Muslim must conform to Islamic Sharia, even if those being judged are disbelievers, based on the Almighty's saying: "So if they come to you, judge between them, or turn away from them. And if you turn away from them, they will not harm you at all. But if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." Western courts rely on man-made or distorted laws that contradict Islamic Sharia, and whoever works in them will be forced to rule according to those laws, and may be forced to rule on matters forbidden by Sharia. Therefore, it is not permissible to work in this profession under these circumstances.
