Procreation is a shared right of both spouses, and the wife is not permitted to use contraceptives without her husband's consent. The wife does not have the right to leave the house except with her husband's permission, unless it is out of necessity. Permissible beating (disciplining) is allowed only after admonition and desertion, and it must be a non-brutal beating, and it is not allowed to be on the face. The wife's father does not have the right to prevent her from returning to her husband, and it is not permissible to obey parents in disobeying the husband regarding matters where his obedience is obligatory. If the father refuses her return, the husband has the right to refer the matter to the Sharia court.
