If a Muslim dies and has heirs, the inheritance is divided among them according to Islamic law, regardless of whether one of them was dutiful or undutiful, or helped their father. The inheritance is a legal right for all heirs. Children inherit by kinship, not by dutifulness or kindness, and they are all equally related. If a man divides his properties among his children during his lifetime, this is not called an inheritance but a gift, and he must be just in distributing it.
