What is the ruling on subscribing to the aforementioned Takaful Fund, taking into consideration that it is optional, that the amount paid for the deceased varies depending on the loan balance, and that some subscribers have fully paid off their loans? And what should a subscribing employee do if the subscription is impermissible?
There is no objection to subscribing to the Takaful fund if it is based on the principle of donation and its funds are not invested in prohibited areas. If the subscription is impermissible because the money collected therein is invested in a prohibited area, such as usurious banks, then the employee must cancel his subscription and reclaim its value, and complete the repayment of his loan from the savings fund. Upon his death, whatever remains due from him will be paid from his estate.
