Is it permissible to pray in the open desert?

If the question is about the ruling on the prayer of a naked person, then the prayer of a naked person who is able to cover his awrah (private parts) is not valid. However, if he is unable to cover himself, his prayer is valid. It is recommended for him to pray sitting, with his limbs drawn together, and to perform bowing and prostration by gesturing. If he prays standing, his prayer is valid. If they are a group, they may pray in congregation, with their Imam (leader) in their midst, unless they are blind or in a dark place.

As for prayer in the open (desert or wilderness), it is permissible in principle, based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "The earth has been made for me a mosque and a means of purification." However, it may be impermissible, such as performing the Friday prayer and the five obligatory prayers in the open when mosques are available.
