A wife's departure from her husband's house without his permission, when not out of necessity, is an act of disobedience and insubordination (nushooz) that forfeits her right to maintenance (nafaqah). It is obligatory for her to return to her home unless there is an excuse.

If the wife is harmed by staying with her husband, she has the right to request a divorce. It is appropriate for a wealthy father to marry off his poor son who is in need of marriage.

The wife is advised to return to her husband's house, live with him kindly, and be patient with him, even if she dislikes him. Not all homes are built on love, but rather on care, commitment, and living together based on good character and Islam.
