What is the ruling on a wife remaining in her family's home after her husband left her to live with his mother and unmarried brothers, without providing a separate dwelling or maintenance, and then he traveled and stopped asking about her?

The husband has committed numerous sins, including neglecting his wife by failing to provide for her, which is a grave sin. Financial support (nafaqa) is a religious obligation, and it is an established right for the wife that does not expire with time. He also committed the sin of leaving his wife in his parents' house with his unmarried brothers without a separate room, which exposes her to danger. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against "al-hamw" (the husband's male relatives) entering upon women. The husband must fear Allah and fulfill his wife's rights, including financial support and providing independent housing. Otherwise, she has the right to seek a divorce.
