Is it permissible to pay Zakat in two installments if it becomes due at the beginning of Ramadan?

When the time for Zakat is due, it must be paid immediately. It is not permissible to pay it in two installments unless the delay is for a beneficial reason, such as waiting for a poor relative, or if the money is absent, or if the Muslim cannot find a recipient for Zakat in their country.
